ABOUT THE CEO

President & CEO Barry Press began his career in retail at Alexanders Department stores in New York City. Fresh out of high school he took a job as a Stock Boy for the famous retailer and quickly was recognized for his potential and talent. He would receive several promotions while at Alexanders; Head of Stock, Manager and then eventually Assistant Buyer for the Ladies Sportswear & Sweater Department. Press would go on to fall in love with the apparel business under the mentorship of industry legend Lenny Schneider.

Taking his experience from Alexander’s, Press joined Arnold Constables Department Stores as a Buyer in Junior Sportswear under the guidance of another industry legend, Kay King. Press would become the youngest Buyer in the 100-year history of the company which would eventually lead him to Korvettes Department Stores where he would become a Buyer for one of the largest sportswear departments in the country.

At Korvettes, under the mentorship of Founder Eugene Furkoff, Press would build his international network and begin his transition into imports. He developed a far-reaching network of suppliers, traveling throughout Asia.

Press would go on to hold several prestigious positions in retail and manufacturing at companies such as S. Kleins, Quote Me, Gitano, Rousso Apparel Group and eventually onto SVP of Adorance. He would continue his record of success in growing and expanding business as well as expand his international network, adding countries in Europe and the Middle East to his rolodex.

In 1987, Press decided to go into business for himself and launched B.R.A.D. International Incorporated; opening their office in Greece in 1987 and Egypt in 1989. The company has played an instrumental role in helping grow Egypt’s apparel industry; consulting with various factories about human rights, child labor laws, compliances, health and safety standards, quality control, timely delivery and pricing to ensure Egypt’s success and competitiveness for the United States.
